A library I was near had it that time ago and on reflecting and hoping I found it through Amazon and through this excellent vendor. I was delighted to find after 9 years or so an existing copy for sale of C. The cassette tapes are in excellent condition and the case for it was also in very good condition. S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters narrated by John Cleese. Despite the Christmas time busyness I received my order in a very timely fashion. I would recommend this vendor for excellent product and excellent service.
I just got it so I can't review the book, but it came like it was suppose to.
Cleverly written,Screwtape gives such an outlandish observation into the dark forces around us and how they operate.yet, at the same time, it seems to fit so perfectly into our understanding of the spiritual world. I must read for all Christians. Though this book might be a little difficult to read/get into/understand, once you finally "get it" your mind will be blown away. About 1/4 of the way through i was kinda scared cause it all seems too real. This is a book that I have personally handed off to several of my friends.
"The Bible" is by far my favorite book. "The Screwtape letters" is now my #3 favorite book. and also how WE ourselves are often our own worst enemy. Everything else is much farther down the totem pole. And, by the way, Amazon can really save you some big money with their price comparisons AND their shipping charge comparisons too. "Was" that is. "Pilgrim's Progress" is #2. Gives you an idea about Satan's tactics.
Why I never read "The Screwtape Letters" beats me (maybe the name threw me). Anyway, on a whim, I ordered a copy thru Amazon, and I have been entranced ever since. A superb book in my opinion. Wish I had tried Amazon a long time ago.
Having a dictionary handy won't hurt either. After experiencing this book I am so much more in-tuned to the forces at work around me. While not an easy read due mostly to the style of writing than usage of uncommon words; if you like language, words and their origins then you'll enjoy this work. Scarily hilarious at times and enlightening throughout. A must read for the spiritually conscious.
